Morning Session

The day kicked off with a visit to the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA). This was an engaging session with a prominent government agency in Johor. IRDA’s officers provided an insightful talk on Johor’s development initiatives, including JS-SEZ and SFZ, sparking vibrant discussions and Q&A sessions.

 Networking Lunch

We then headed to Sunway Hotel Bigbox for a delicious buffet lunch. The atmosphere was lively, with participants networking and sharing ideas.

 Site Visits

• Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP):

We were honored to have Joe Schofield, Senior Director and COO, present on PTP’s operations and logistics. The tour highlighted their remarkable efficiency in cargo movement, connectivity, and the extensive teamwork involved in running the port.

• Equinix Data Centre:

The lovely team at Equinix provided great insight into the operations and the demands by customers of their Data Centres. A guided tour through the facility showcased the demand for storing digital information and how Equinix addresses environmental challenges to position itself as a leader in sustainable data centre solutions. The insights emphasized the critical role of the Johor facility in meeting the growing demand for digital storage solutions across Southeast Asia.

Dinner & Networking Refreshments

The day concluded at Les Bouchons, a French steakhouse in Puteri Harbour, with over 100 attendees joining for dinner and networking.

We were delighted to welcome Austrade representatives from Singapore, Kristyn Thomson and Gaurav Johri, and extend our gratitude to Equinix, Telford, and our long-time supporters, MABC Partners in Progress.
